After Gaza fires more than 100 rockets towards Israel, IDF responds with intense air raids

Jerusalem / Gaza – A fierce conflict sparked between Israel and the Gaza Strip once again after the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire last month. Two Israeli soldiers were injured in the violent protests at the Israel-Palestine border on Friday. Also, four Palestinians were killed in the Israeli action that followed. To avenge the deaths, the terrorist organisations of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad launched powerful rocket attacks on Israel.

Last month, current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected as prime minister in Israel. Before the elections, Egypt had brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. Peace had thus prevailed in the border areas for a while. However, on Wednesday night, balloon and rocket attacks were once again launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel. After that, an attempt was made to target two Israeli soldiers during the protests near the Israeli border on Friday.

The IDF initiated a retaliatory assault after the injuries to two of its soldiers on Friday, and the action had claimed the lives of four Palestinians. In reply, the terrorist groups in Gaza then launched powerful rocket attacks against Israel on Saturday. The IDF informed that the terrorists launched more than 100 rockets till afternoon. Although no loss of life was reported in the rocket attacks, IDF responded with intense air raids.

As part of the offensive, Israeli fighter jets have initiated air raids in various parts of Gaza, and the IDF began artillery shelling at the border. As per the sources, the military outposts of Hamas and its affiliated organisations were targeted in the strikes. Since the last few days, the terrorist outfits of Hamas, the Islamic Jihad and even Hezbollah have been threatening to launch massive attacks on Israel. Nevertheless, Israel has made intense preparations for this eventuality as well and warned of directly targeting the leaders of the terrorist organisations.
