Washington: US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Google. He said, ‘There may or may not be National Security concerns with regard to Google and their relationship with China. However, if evidence was found that pointed towards it, the US administration will conduct a detailed investigation into it. I sincerely hope there is no problem!!!’

A few days ago, Peter Thiel, a leading billionaire investor and tech expert, had raised questions over the connection between China and Google. President Trump had fired a salvo of criticism at Google, based on Thiel’s statements. At the time, he had warned Google that the US administration would launch a probe into the relationship between Google and China’s Communist regime.

While responding to Thiel and Trump’s criticism, tech giant Google stated that it had no ties with the Chinese military. Nevertheless, by bringing up the issue once again, President Trump has indicated that an investigation would be undertaken on the matter. Also, the US Congress and other agencies are holding inquiries against Google and other bigwigs in the tech industry. On the sidelines of the developments, President Trump has indicated widening the scope of investigations by signalling at an independent probe against Google, over its connections with China.

There may or may not be National Security concerns with regard to Google and their relationship with China. If there is a problem, we will find out about it. I sincerely hope there is not!!!
