Hezbollah claims its guided missiles can target every Israeli city & it doubled missile arsenal in a year

Beirut: Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah has sent out a warning as he said, ‘Hezbollah has guided missiles that can accurately target any city in Israel. As compared to last year, Hezbollah has doubled the number of such missiles.’ Also, Nasrallah said that Iranian military officials believe Israel and Saudi Arabia had provoked the US to kill General Qassem Soleimani. He further alleged that even now, the US, Israel and Saudi were plotting to assassinate him.

Hezbollah’s guided-missile arsenal has doubled, which could invite action against the terrorist organisation. After Iranian nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed, Israeli media claimed that Hassan Nasrallah had gone underground. Some news outlets had even asserted that the Hezbollah chief had sought refuge in Iran. However, Nasrallah gave a four-hour interview to a Beirut news channel on Sunday. During the interview, Nasrallah said his organisation had become more armed and powerful than before. Nasrallah said Hezbollah’s might was a mystery and Israel did not know much about it.

To substantiate his claims, the Hezbollah commander informed about the group’s missile capabilities. Nasrallah said that ‘Israel has repeatedly warned of targeting a Hezbollah warehouse in eastern Lebanon’s Bekka. Nevertheless, we can launch rockets all across Israel, if it does do so.’ The Hezbollah chief asserted that the organisation had developed guided missiles that could accurately target every city of Israel and doubled its missile arsenal compared to last year.’

Nasrallah threatened to seek revenge from Israel. He said Hezbollah would avenge the killings of Senior Hezbollah Commander Ali Kamel Mohsen Jawad, Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani and chief of Iranian-backed Kataib Hezbollah group from Iraq, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis. Ali Kamel was killed in an attack on Syria; Soleimani and Muhandis were killed in US drone attacks in Iraq.

Nasrallah alleged that Israel and Saudi had provoked the US to kill Soleimani and Muhandis. ‘During his visit to the US, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had discussed my assassination with American leaders. According to Saudi Crown Prince’s demand, the US has plotted my execution with assistance from Israel,’ the Hezbollah chief accused. Their plans would never succeed, Nasrallah said in the interview. He went on level accusations as he said that ‘I did not expect much from the Arab nations of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco; all of which, have normalised relations with Israel. These nations have previously disappointed the Palestinian cause.’

In the past, Israel had claimed that Hezbollah, which has been chanting slogans for Israel’s death, was in possession of thousands of missiles. Also, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu submitted the Hezbollah missile stockpile locations to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). However, by openly threatening to strike Israel and revealing its missile capabilities, Hezbollah appears to have invited the western nations to take action against it.
