US Air Force deploys 20 CHAMP missiles capable of rendering military electronics virtually useless, claims UK daily

Washington – The United States has developed the ‘CHAMP’ missiles capable of making useless, the enemy ballistic missiles, military bases, radar systems and security systems that were considered to be highly impregnable till date. The US Air Force has deployed 20 CHAMP missiles around the world, and its use causes no collateral damage, a British daily has claimed. The news report goes on to claim that the United States has currently deployed the missiles for use against Iran and North Korea.

Iran has threatened to target the US interests in the Mideast. Also, a war may likely flare up at any time between the United States and Iran, as the United States too, has stepped up deployment in the region. The possible scenario has attracted worldwide criticism as it would result in mass casualties. However, as per a senior investigative journalist, the missiles the US has developed and deployed would cause no collateral damage or casualties while still being capable of bringing Iran to its knees.

While talking to a British daily, Ronald Kessler, a former investigative journalist for many leading US news agencies as also an author of many popular books, revealed the information on the CHAMP missiles. The missile is known as CHAMP – ‘Counter-electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project’ was developed using High Power Microwave (HPM) technology. It emits the HPM that paralyse the attack capabilities of the enemy, Kessler claimed. While speaking on the missiles, Boeing’s CHAMP Program Manager Keith Colman said, ‘Today we made science fiction into science fact.’

Boeing, the largest arms manufacturer in the United States was working on the CHAMP project for the last ten years. The project associated with the US Air Force used the microwave technology for the manufacture of missiles. In 2012, the US Air Force and Boeing successfully developed and tested the microwave-based CHAMP missiles. Nevertheless, the then Obama administration had refused to induct the weapon into the US Air Force, Kessler informed.

But Kessler informed, then Trump National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster about CHAMP. Subsequently, the Trump administration announced funding for the program and ordered for their deployment at all the US airbases around the world. The CHAMP missiles are delivered from the nuclear-capable B-52 bombers of the US Air Force. Currently, the planes have been deployed in the Persian Gulf and at the Guam islands. The missiles have a range 700 miles and are capable of flying at low altitudes in the enemy territory.

The missile is equipped with electromagnetic pulse cannons which enable them to travel at a very high speed. Once it reaches the enemy territory, the CHAMP is activated. What’s more is that as it attains a very low altitude, the missiles emit the super-powerful HPM waves generating a concentrated beam of energy. They can disable the computer chips, the missiles connected to electronic technology and radar systems. Thus, the HPM waves render inoperable all the electronic systems on the military base.

Kessler told the British daily that the missile had been successfully tested at a US airbase. During the tests, all the CCTV cameras on the military base were disabled, but no casualties were reported making it the most dangerous missile, Kessler claimed.
