Ukraine losing 200 soldiers per day in Donbas

Moscow / Kyiv – It has surfaced that Ukraine has begun to feel the knockdown given by the Russian military in the Donbas. There are indications that the Donbas will not remain under Ukrainian control soon; statements have emerged from Ukrainian officials and agencies acknowledging the defeat. Mykhailo Podolyak, a close ally of Ukraine’s President, said Ukraine was losing about 200 soldiers daily to the Donbas front. Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service has warned that Russia could continue the conflict year-round, given the resources it currently has. Information has come to the fore that in the wake of the Ukrainian authorities’ statement, Russian forces have launched new attacks in central Ukraine and the city of Sloviansk.

200 soldiers Moreover, the city of Severodonetsk, one of the strategic cities in the Donbas region, has been almost entirely seized by Russian forces. Only part of the industrial area within the city’s border is under Ukrainian control, and a strong struggle has been ongoing. Including Severodonetsk, the intensity of the Russian attacks on other towns in Donbas and southern and central Ukraine has increased significantly. With the massive damage caused due to these Russian attacks, there is no option left but to withdraw Ukrainian troops. The Ukrainian army was losing 100 soldiers per day in Donbas, President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed a few days ago. Podolyak, a close ally of Zelensky, admitted that the death toll had risen to more than that.

Podolyak said the Ukrainian army was losing about 200 soldiers a day. He also clarified that Ukraine has to suffer heavy casualties due to artillery, tanks and rockets being fired from Russia and airstrikes.

Following in the footsteps of President Zelensky’s close aides, Ukraine’s intelligence service has also released a statement acknowledging Russia’s power. Given Russia’s current financial resources, the Russian leadership could continue the struggle in Ukraine for another year, Ukraine’s intelligence service warned. The Russian leadership may display that it has suspended the conflict for some time, but its attacks will continue, the Ukrainian agencies have said.

Meanwhile, Russia has launched strong attacks on the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. Ukrainian sources informed that there had been continual attacks in the region for the past few days. At the same time, the Russian army has been advancing on the Sloviansk city in Donbas. With the Russian units advancing from the north and west of the town, attacks near the city have begun. In the wake of the escalating attacks, a court in Donetsk has sentenced three foreign soldiers from Ukraine to death for joining the conflict. It includes two British and one Moroccan national.
