Ukraine may cease to exist on the world map in two years

- warns former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

Moscow/Kyiv: – Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a stern warning that it cannot be said whether Ukraine will exist on the world map after two years. Ukraine has even demanded fuel from the United States along with weapons. Former Russian President Medvedev has raised a question on the very existence of Ukraine while reacting to that. Against the background of the Russian leaders’ aggressive statements, the United States’ Biden administration has announced additional defence assistance worth $1 billion to Ukraine. In reply to the US announcement, Russian forces launched missile attacks to destroy a depot holding foreign weapons on the Poland-Ukraine border.

Over the last few days, Russia has increased the intensity and the extent of attacks in Ukraine. Russia is launching simultaneous attacks from nine locations in Donbas and as per the local officials, the Ukrainian forces’ situation is worsening with each passing day. Ukraine is losing nearly 200 soldiers daily and has a shortage of weapons. Therefore, for the last few days, Ukrainian leaders are repeatedly demanding a speedy supply of weapons from western countries. A special meeting of the western countries is scheduled for Wednesday. Against the background of the meeting, US President Joe Biden announced defence assistance worth $1 billion for Ukraine following a dialogue with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The new defence assistance will include 18′ 155mm Howitzers’, ‘Harpoon Coastal Defence Systems’, ‘155mm Ammunition’, ‘Night Vision Devices’ and 1000 ‘Secure Radios’. With this US announcement, the total defence assistance received by Ukraine has reached $5.5 billion. Before this, the United States supplied helicopters, artillery guns, armed vehicles, drones, rifles, Javelin missiles and anti-aircraft weapons. But saying that the weapons provided by the United States and European countries are insufficient, Ukraine demands a bigger supply. The main reason for the Ukrainian demand for weapons is the consistent attacks launched by Russia on the stock of foreign weapons. Over the last one and a half months, Russia has targeted the depots storing foreign weapons and the bases of these weapons on a massive scale.

Meanwhile, Russia has informed that a NATO weapons stock in the Lviv region near the Polish border was destroyed on Wednesday. The stock included artillery guns and other systems supplied by the United States. Meanwhile, Russia claimed to have captured two US soldiers during the conflict in the Kharkiv region. Alexander Drueke and Andy Huynh are the names of these US soldiers. Earlier, in April, two British soldiers had been captured. These soldiers have been awarded the death penalty.
