Washington/Moscow/Kyiv: Anatoly Antonov, the Russian ambassador to the US, has made serious allegations saying, “The Ukrainian regime has planned to use a ‘dirty bomb’ or cause an accident in the nuclear project. Ukraine intends to force the US and NATO to war against Russia by orchestrating provocative incidents.” Antanov blamed that even though Russia has repeatedly drawn attention to this threat, the United States and other Western countries are ignoring it. Earlier, Russia’s defence and foreign ministers tried to draw attention to Ukraine’s ‘dirty bomb’ conspiracy. However, the international team sent for inspection to Ukraine rejected Russia’s claims saying no evidence was found of such activities.   

In an article published on the social media channel of the Russian Embassy, Ambassador Antonov provided information about the Ukrainian conspiracy. ” Today, we face the threat of a radiation disaster. Kyiv is planning to commit a provocation by exploding a ‘dirty bomb. Detonating such a radiological explosive device will have a magnitude comparable to a low-yield nuclear weapon explosion. The blast wave will disperse radioactive substances over an area of up to several thousand square meters. Contaminated territories will turn into an exclusion zone for 30-50 years,’ warned the Russian ambassador.   

“Two organizations in Ukraine have been entrusted with the responsibility of developing and detonating a dirty bomb. Their work has reached its final stage. Ukraine has the infrastructure as well as the scientific and technological capabilities to produce dirty bombs. They also have the stock of uranium-235 and uranium-239, which are required for a nuclear explosion,” Antanov pointed out. Apart from the dirty bomb, the regime is also trying to sabotage a nuclear project within Ukraine’s territory, the Russian ambassador claimed.   

These actions of Ukraine could lead to an accident comparable to the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters. Russia has repeatedly drawn the international community’s attention to this issue. However, the warnings are being ignored, claiming the information provided by Russia is wrong and untrue, the Russian ambassador warned.   

They want to pretend that Ukraine is the victim of a Russian nuclear attack by provocation through a dirty bomb or an accident. In the article, the Russian ambassador alleged that this was intended to draw the United States and NATO into the Russia-Ukraine war. Antonov has claimed that by standing by Ukraine, the United States has also become a supporter of nuclear terrorism.
