More than 100 Ukrainian soldiers killed in Dnipro in Russian attacks

Moscow/Kyiv: Russian forces have targeted central Ukraine in the past 48 hours, carrying out massive attacks in the Donbas region. In the city of Dnipro, Ukraine’s fourth largest city, military bases and railways were attacked. In this attack, more than 100 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and 13 military vehicles, along with eight armoured vehicles, were blown up, according to the Russian Defence Ministry. At the same time, a US daily reported that the Ukrainian army suffered heavy casualties in the battle in Bakhmut city. Against this backdrop, sources in the Biden administration have said that the United States is thinking of providing ‘Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs’ to Ukraine.

Analysts have claimed that the Russia-Ukraine conflict would slow down due to the harsh winter in Ukraine. However, Russia has increased the intensity of attacks. After a series of missile attacks last week, Russia began targeting Donbas, Kherson, and central Ukraine. In the last 48 hours, Russia has launched heavy attacks on Dnipro city, using fighter jets and missiles. The Ukrainian army’s armoured vehicles and other weapons stash were destroyed in this attack. Ukrainian military bases and command posts were also targeted in the attacks. The Russian Defence Ministry informed that more than 100 soldiers of the Ukrainian Army were killed in it.

Local military officials reported that Russian forces have also advanced in Bakhmut city in Donbas. The Ukrainian army suffered heavy casualties in the conflict between the Russian and Ukrainian armies in Bakhmut. The US daily ‘The New York Times’ published a report on it. In addition, the Russian military is said to have thwarted the attempts of the Ukrainian forces to take the front line in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Russian forces are also attacking the Svatove-Kreminna front in Donbas.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry said artillery and rockets are being fired from Russia on Avdiivka and Kupiansk. Paul Craig Roberts, a former senior US official, has alleged that the US leadership is not concerned about Ukraine or the Ukrainian people but only intends to increasingly provoke the Russia-Ukraine conflict with the sole aim of weakening Russia.
