capital Kyiv Despite the severe winter in Russia and Ukraine, the intensity of the conflict is increasing by the day. A few days ago, Ukraine attacked military bases in Russia and caused great damage. In response to these attacks, Russia targeted the capital, Kyiv. Early Wednesday, a drone attack was carried out on Kyiv from a warship in the Sea of Azov. A total of 13 Iranian drones were used for the attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that they had targeted infrastructure and sensitive areas in Kyiv. Although the Ukrainian military claimed to have shot down all Russian drones, it also admitted that they had caused damage. Ukraine also claimed that Russia had used more than 400 drones to attack it. Administrative buildings and other buildings in Kherson are said to have been heavily damaged.

Meanwhile, in the wake of Russia’s rising attacks, the US has decided to supply Ukraine with ‘Patriot’ missiles. US’s leading news channel ‘CNN’ released a news report on it. According to the report, the proposal in this regard is ready. After the approval of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and President Joe Biden, the US will provide the said missile system to Ukraine. It also claimed that the ‘Patriot’ system would likely join the Ukrainian army early next year. The Patriot has a range of over 150 kilometres and is said to have the ability to penetrate missiles and fighter jets. Even though the US had previously provided a ‘NASAMS’ air defence system to Ukraine, Kyiv is consistently demanding the Patriot system.
