Russian people should prepare for a ‘forever war’

Moscow: The situation will become more and more difficult in the future, and the Russian people should be prepared for a ‘forever war’, said Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of President Vladimir Putin warned. Even as Peskov issued the warning, reports of President Putin approving Russia’s new foreign policy have surfaced. It focuses on the ‘Hybrid War’ of the western countries against Russia. Meanwhile, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the continuous supply of arms from NATO to Ukraine would lead to a nuclear war.

Russia announced last year’s attack on Ukraine was a ‘special military operation’. However, now Russia has taken the stand that the Ukraine conflict is its battle against NATO and the West. Russian leaders and officials claim the conflict in Ukraine is not merely a Russia-Ukraine conflict because of the continuous supply of arms and financial aid to Ukraine from the US and NATO member countries. The statement made by President Putin’s spokesperson Peskov supports this further.

Peskov indicated that the coming times would be challenging and hinted at the conflict continuing for a prolonged period. At the same time, Peskov has warned the Russian people to be ready for it. Even as the Russian spokesperson issued the warning, the country’s foreign policy was also found to have been amended in accordance with it. Russian President Putin has given approval to the new ‘Foreign Policy Concept’.

'forever war'

On Friday, Russia’s Security Council meeting headed by President Putin was convened. In this meeting, Putin signed the new foreign policy. Putin clarified at this time that Russia was forced to change its foreign policy due to the ongoing international developments. The US and partner countries are trying to harm the interests of Russia, and at the meeting, it was informed that the Western world had initiated a new ‘hybrid war’.

Meanwhile, President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, a neighbouring country of Russia, hinted at nuclear war. Lukashenko warned that the battle tanks, missiles, and other advanced weapons being supplied to Ukraine from western countries are leading the world towards nuclear annihilation. Due to the actions of the US and partner countries, a war has started in Ukraine. The risk of Third World War with the use of nuclear weapons looms on the horizon’, Lukashenko said.
