342 terrorists killed in Syria offensive, claims Turkish Defence Minister

Istanbul/Damascus – Turkey claims of killing 342 terrorists in a military invasion on Syria carried out in the last two days. However, the Kurds are being targeted in the attacks and their disturbing videos have surfaced on social media. The common Kurdish populace especially the women and children, have been grievously injured in the military action while their outcry can be seen in the videos. Turkey was found to have been censoring all such videos and reports of the Syria invasion. Also, the Syrian Kurds have called on the US to reverse their decision of withdrawing troops from the area especially after the inhumane Turkish operation.

The two Kurdish organisations – the PKK group, which Turkey has termed as a terrorist group as well as the YPG from Syria were attacked by the military, the Turkish Defence Minister informed. However, a Kurdish leader from Kobani has claimed that Turkey was not targeting the terrorists but the common citizens of Syria.

Additionally, Kurdish leader Badran Jiya Kurd alleged that Turkey was launching attacks to free the ISIS terrorists the United States and the Syrian rebels had detained. “The Turkish attacks have weakened the Kurdish security outside the prisons holding the ISIS terrorists, who can use it to their advantage to escape. The invasions thus imperil the entire world”, Kurd said.

The US will now have become aware of the atrocities being faced by the Kurds as a result of the brutal Turkey attacks. The US President must reconsider his decision to withdraw the troops from Syria, the commander of the Kurdish organisation urged.

Turkey has declared the Kurdish military groups – the YPG and the PKK as terrorist organisations. On the contrary, the US and other countries from the West do not consider them so. It has sparked intense debates on the Turkish invasion of the Syrian Kurds. On the one hand Turkey asserts that their attacks have claimed the lives of terrorists, while on the other it has harshly restricted the news reports covering the violent effects of the invasion. The country has detailed two journalists, who have reported the invasion Turkey initiated in Syria and written against the Edrogan government.

Fifteen more were detained for the same reasons. Even so, the Turkish action has reverberated in the international media and would make it difficult for the country to conceal such reports in the future.
