World faces the most dangerous decade since World War II

Moscow/Kyiv: Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that the world is at a historical turning point and the coming decade would be the most dangerous, uncertain and equally important decade since the World War II. At this time, Putin also advised that the multipolar world order is a reality and should be addressed if Europe wants to regain its political and economic potential. President Putin also clarified that the campaign in Ukraine is going in the right direction and that Russia does not feel the need to use nuclear weapons in this conflict. Nuclear drills were organised in Russia on Wednesday under the supervision of President Putin. This statement made by Putin following the exercise assumes much significance.

dangerous decadePresident Putin strongly criticised Western countries’ policies in the Valdai Discussion Club meeting organised in Russia. Putin lashed out at the West, saying the US-led liberal bloc has nothing new to offer the world and only wants unilateral hegemony. The Russian President went on to warn that the Western world, including the United States, is under the illusion that they never make mistakes, which is very dangerous. President Putin claimed at the time that Russia is not an enemy of the West and has tried to reconcile with them in the past but was rejected. Speaking about Russia’s campaign in Ukraine, he explained that the goal of this offensive was the security of the people of Donbas and that Russia has not backed down from it. Putin further clarified that given the current state of the conflict in Ukraine, there is no need to use nuclear weapons and that the statements made by Russia in this regard were a response to the claims of the West. He also alleged that the countries that threw an outcry over Russia’s statements ignored former British Prime Minister Liz Truss’s statements on nuclear weapons.

World War II

A few days ago, Putin mentioned a nuclear attack and warned that his threat was ‘not a bluff’. After Putin’s statement, the West claimed that Russia would launch a nuclear attack on Ukraine. The United States and NATO had also warned Russia of severe consequences. Against this background, Putin stating that he would not use nuclear weapons is noteworthy.

President Putin also accused the West of playing a dangerous and dirty game using Ukraine. However, Putin pointed out that this game would not be successful, and the western alliance would have to negotiate with Russia in the interest of the United States.
