Moscow/Kyiv: It is coming to the fore that the attacks on the Ukrainian front by the Russian security forces are continuously intensifying. It includes attacks from Kharkiv in northern Ukraine to Odesa in southern Ukraine. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, drones, multiple rocket systems, and fighter aircraft were used on a large scale to launch the attacks. In the last 36 hours, the Ukrainian military claimed that Russia has launched over 100 attacks.
After the Russia-Ukraine conflict flared up, the Western media and Ukraine claimed that the Russian armed forces faced huge losses and its arms were reduced to a large extent. Russia is said to have used its arsenal from the Cold War period after World War II. However, if the Russian attacks from the last two months are considered, it becomes evident that these claims and statements are false.
Russian armed forces, which have gained control over the Soledar city and 90 per cent of Bakhmut in Donbas province, seem to have begun increasingly expanding the scope of their attacks. For the past few weeks, Russia has been continuously firing artillery, rockets and mortars in large numbers. For the last few days, the Russian armed forces have also intensified their aerial attacks. Earlier, Russia had used air strikes only for launching long-range attacks. Nevertheless, Russia has now begun air raids in the Donbas region.
In the last 36 hours, Russia conducted almost 30 air raids and even used suicide drones in the Odessa region. Russia fired missiles at Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. In Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarske areas, more than 50 attacks were launched. Multiple rocket systems were used to launch the attacks. Also, Ukraine informed that more than 70 artillery attacks were launched in Zaporizhzhia.
Meanwhile, since an unexploded bomb was found in the Russian city of Belgorod on Saturday, the town was evacuated, and the local authorities informed that citizens were relocated to a safer place. About 3000 citizens were moved to another place. On Thursday, the Defense Ministry said that a Russian fighter aircraft had accidentally launched an attack in this very region.
After the meeting in Germany on Friday, Ukraine has once again demanded that Western countries step up the supply of arms to Ukraine. Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Melnik said that Western countries should give one per cent of their GDP towards arms to Ukraine. Ukraine’s deputy foreign minister has claimed that although the West has supplied arms to Ukraine, more weapons are needed to win against Russia.
