Helsinki/Moscow/Kyiv: ‘Russian President Putin has already lost the Ukraine conflict. Putin is not likely to win this conflict in future as well. The conflict is not in Russia’s interest; it will understand and be ready to negotiate,’ claimed US President Joe Biden. By claiming this, the United States has decided to deploy 3,000 US soldiers to provide security to European countries against the growing threat of Russia. Meanwhile, US lawmakers have alleged that the Biden administration will also send nuclear weapons to Ukraine in the future.
On Thursday, US President Joe Biden visited Finland after the NATO meeting held in Lithuania. During this, he also testified that US’ commitment to NATO will remain intact. Biden further claimed that Ukraine would join NATO; the only question remains is ‘When?’. However, he raised apprehensions about whether the policy related to NATO will continue by saying that no one can guarantee the future if there is a change of government in the United States.
In the last few weeks, the news of the failure of Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russia is constantly emerging. Senior officials and analysts of Western countries have also confirmed this. Besides, Russia has increased the scope of its drone and missile attacks. It is raising the concern of Ukraine and governments supporting the US.
Against this backdrop, the US President has claimed that Putin has lost the conflict and appears to be trying to relieve the Western alliance with Ukraine by doing so. In this claim, he claimed that Russia’s weapons are on the verge of exhaustion, and the economic condition is also weak. Western countries, including the US, have failed to provide sufficient weapons to Ukraine. Additionally, warnings are being issued about the onset of economic recession in the United States and Europe. However, Biden is seen claiming that Russia has lost the conflict to hide its failure.
Furthermore, Biden is also being targeted in the US political circle on the issue of the Ukraine conflict. Last week, Biden decided to send cluster bombs to Ukraine. The Republican Party has criticized this issue and presented an independent resolution in Parliament. As she presented her stance regarding this proposal, Republican Party MP Marjorie Taylor Greene alleged that the Biden administration might as well send nuclear weapons to Ukraine in the days ahead.
Furthermore, providing cluster bombs to Ukraine attempts to escalate the conflict. ‘Now what next? Will the United States send nuclear weapons, biological and chemical weapons to Ukraine?’ Greene asked such a sharp question. The friendly countries of Europe have also expressed strong opposition to the US plan to give cluster bombs to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, claiming that Putin has lost the battle, Biden has decided to deploy 3,000 additional troops, citing the reason for providing security to European countries against Russia. These troops will be deployed as part of ‘Operation Atlantic Resolve’, said officials of the Biden administration.
