US, North Korea decide to resume nuclear talks after historic meet, Trump becomes 1st US President to set foot in North Korea

Washington/Pyongyang: US President Donald Trump stepped into North Korea crossing the border zone between the two Koreas, and met North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un. President Trump said Dictator Kim was a good friend and currently, many good and positive developments were occurring. After the United States and North Korean heads of states concluded their meeting, North Korea announced that the nuclear talks that were stalled for a long time now would resume in two to three weeks.

In the last few days, tensions had sparked between North Korea and the United States. Also, North Korea had threatened to restart the nuclear program after expressing its displeasure with the US. Under such circumstances, US President Trump visited South Korea on Sunday. After discussions with the South Korean President, the US President announced a visit to the demilitarised zone (DMZ) between the two Koreas and also to hold talks with the North Korean Dictator.

The Dictator Kim accepted the invitation for the meeting that had been scheduled unexpectedly at such short notice and met President Trump at the DMZ border. After that, President Trump walked ten steps inside the North Korean border. The meeting is a historic event, as Trump is the first US President ever to set foot on the North Korean soil.
