Russia conducts combat exercises in Baltics to counter growing US-NATO military activities near borders

Moscow: Russia has organised combat training in the Baltic region to counter the aggressive moves of the US and NATO member nations near its borders. The drills will include participation from the Sukhoi fighters as well as the Iskander missiles. During the combat exercises, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that the Russian defense forces were soon to induct a system that can intercept hypersonic missiles.

The US and its NATO allies have commenced two joint military exercises simultaneously, which involves participation from over 10,000 troops. Also, the drills involved over 230 combat vehicles and systems.

Right after, the US and 17 NATO member states began with the BALTOPS-20, large-scale maritime naval exercises, on June 7. Approximately 28 warships, over 25 fighter jets and more than 3,000 personnel have participated in the naval exercises.
