Moscow: The untamed ambitions, arrogance and impunity of the West are to blame for the conflict in Ukraine, and they have waged war against the Russian motherland, Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised. In the ‘Victory Day’ parade organised in Moscow on Tuesday, the Russian President dealt a heavy blow to the West. At this time, Putin realised that the West had not yet come out of the hegemonic mentality but was doing activities such as creating conflict among people, dividing society, inciting bloody battles and destroying family and traditional values for their interests.
Victory Day is celebrated in Russia on May 9 to mark the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. On this day, a grand military parade is organised in Russia in the presence of foreign leaders. Due to the increasing intensity of the Russia-Ukraine war, many events in the ‘Victory Day’ parade were cut off this year. At the same time, only the presence of the heads of state of the member countries of the Russian-led group “CIS” was seen among the foreign leaders.
In the wake of the military parade in the capital Moscow, President Putin launched an aggressive attack on the West. Putin accused the West, saying that their policies were responsible for the conflict in Ukraine and that they were intimidating the people of Ukraine . The Russian President made the West aware that they had forgotten the claims made by the Nazi regime in the last century to dominate the world and its consequences.
At this time, Putin alleged that it had been forgotten who defeated the horrendous Nazi regime and who stood as a wall for the freedom of the people of Europe. The Russian President also claimed that Western hegemonic ideology is dangerous and criminal. President Putin warned that the conflict had been imposed on Russia from this ideology, and the Russian Army would take care of the security of the country’s people.
He also pointed out that the world is again at a critical juncture. Western media has claimed that the ‘Victory Day’ event held in Russia on Tuesday was not a show of Russia’s strength and power like every year. Analysts have pointed out that demonstrations of fighter jets and the display of new weapons have been avoided in this program. It has also been claimed that the absence of the usual parade at the Victory Day event is a sign of Russia’s diminished capabilities.
