Coronavirus death toll in US exceeds American lives lost during the Vietnam war  

Washington: The Coronavirus deaths in the United States has crossed 58,605. The United States has lost more American lives in the Novel Coronavirus pandemic than in the 4-decades-old Vietnam war. Analysts drew the attention of US citizens along with the international community to the deadly threat of the Coronavirus pandemic by underscoring that the loss of American lives as also the state of the economy was so battered as a result of the Coronavirus that it would leave the Vietnam war losses far behind.  

The pandemic claimed its first victim on the 6th of February, in the United States. Since then, the death toll in the United States has crossed 58,000 in less than three months. At the same time, the US has recorded 1,036,000 cases in the country. The John Hopkins university informed that the number of cases in the United States has doubled in just 18 days. The medical officials in the country have claimed that the number of deaths would soon rise quite rapidly.  

In the UK, the Coronavirus deaths have reached 610 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities so far to 22,370. The number of deaths reported from nursing homes in the United Kingdom will get added to this number as well. Therefore, British medical officers believe the total number of cases will soon rise. Additionally, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has appealed to the British people to stringently follow the regulations of the lockdown and warned that failure to do so would cause the United Kingdom to be hit by a second wave of the virus.  

In the last 24 hours, the new Coronavirus has claimed 382 lives in Italy, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 27,359. On the other hand, Spain has reported 325 Coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, and the country’s death toll now stands at 24,275. Also, Germany recorded 202 deaths with an addition of 1,304 new Coronavirus cases. The total number of deaths in Germany has now reached 6,330.   

In Russia, 972 deaths have been reported so far, and the total number of cases has climbed to 99,399. The number of Coronavirus cases in Russia is increasing rapidly, and President Vladimir Putin has expressed serious concerns over the situation.
