US Joint Forces Command activated to stop Russia in ‘Battle of the Atlantic,’ announces NATO

Norfolk – NATO Commander, Vice Admiral Andrew Lewis, announced the activation of US Joint Forces Command with complete capabilities saying, ‘Security challenges in the Atlantic region have become more complex. In such a scenario, the command in Norfolk demonstrates NATO’s commitment to security and stability in the region. The command, which gives a powerful signal to deter the enemy, assures the security of North America and European countries.’ US Defence Chief, General Mark Milley, pointed out that the main task of the command is to fight the Battle of the Atlantic.

US Joint ForcesNATO announced two separate commands in 2018 against the backdrop of Russia’s growing military movements. One of the commands would be in Europe and the other in the United States. During the same period, the United States also announced the resumption of the second fleet of the US navy. NATO’s new command will work jointly with this second fleet of the US navy. The new Joint Forces Command consists of more than 150 soldiers and officers.
