Washington – ‘The United States and European countries are putting efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran (JCPOA). However, Iran puts the world in a very dangerous place by accelerating its nuclear program,’ warned Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. A few hours ago, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid had also declared that Israel has every right to take action against Iran at any moment.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is claimed to have turned his back on ongoing talks with the US and European countries. Iran has announced that it will resume talks in November. However, in the last few days, the information declared by Iran about its nuclear program has become a matter of concern to the international community.
At this point, western countries ‘cannot afford to fail’ on Iran’s nuclear program, says the European Union (EU). The Union says Iran will have to go back to the 2015 nuclear deal. Moreover, Foreign Minister Lapid’s US visit two days ago makes it apparent that Israel too is aggressive about Iran’s nuclear program.
In a meeting with Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, Lapid had signalled action against Iran. The UAE Foreign Minister was also present at the occasion. Less than a few hours later, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also visited the US and met with Blinken. The Saudi foreign minister held an aggressive stance over Iran.
Prince Faisal mentioned the Biden administration’s ongoing negotiations with Iran in Vienna. Through these negotiations, Western countries are trying to bring Iran back in the 2015 nuclear deal. However, Prince Faisal criticised Iran for its nuclear activities posing a threat to global security. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has started a dialogue with Iran. ‘These interactions have not reached a state where we can say we have made substantial progress,’ the Saudi foreign minister said.
