Russia intensifies attacks on oil refineries of Ukraine

Moscow / Kyiv – While the western countries have become aggressive over the massacre near the capital, Kyiv, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine. Cannons, rockets and mortars were fired at five cities in the Luhansk province in eastern Ukraine. The local Ukrainian governors have demanded a special operation to evacuate civilians from these cities. The city of Mariupol is also continuously attacked, and fuel bases in the Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk provinces have also been targeted, informed the Russian Defence Ministry.

Moreover, Western countries have accused Russian forces of carrying out a brutal massacre in the Bucha area near the Ukraine capital, Kyiv. Western countries have even prepared to take comprehensive and robust action against Russia. A European Union and NATO will meet on Wednesday to announce tougher sanctions against Russia. Before that, European countries launched a diplomatic action against Russia, expelling more than 150 Russian diplomats. Some countries, including the United States, insisted on filing a case against Russian President Vladimir Putin under war crimes charges.

However, Russia has intensified its actions more in Ukraine without succumbing to Western pressure. Russian forces have focused on eastern Ukraine and Mariupol for the past two days. Parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces in the east of Ukraine are under the control of pro-Russian groups. But now, Russia has begun moves to gain complete control of these provinces. Analysts and experts from Ukraine, as well as Western countries, endorse this. Since Monday, Russian forces have begun hitting mortars, rockets and missiles, including cannons, on cities in the Luhansk province.

Russian forces have consistently launched a series of attacks in Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Kreminna, Rubizhne, Popasna and Hirs’k in the Luhansk provinces. Luhansk military governor, Serhiy Haidai, has demanded that there is a need to evacuate civilians safely from these cities. He also claimed that the Russian forces in this region are not in a position for a ceasefire.

Sources have said that nearly 60% of the city of Rubizhne has gone under the control of Russian forces. Along with eastern Ukraine, attacks continue in Mariupol city, and it has surfaced that more than a million civilians are trapped in the area.

Russia launched missile attacks on Wednesday morning in Lviv, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv. A spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry informed that five Ukrainian military fuel bases were targeted in Lviv, Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk. Rockets and missiles attacks have been launched in Kharkiv since Tuesday night. Besides, Ukrainian officials have informed that 55 people were injured in the Russian attacks in Mykolaiv city.
