Ukraine conflict, a lesson to US to prepare for possible war

Washington: The United States has received the necessary training from the Ukraine conflict for a possible war with China to protect Taiwan. The United States will benefit greatly from this experience. At the same time, it is dangerous that the United States may have to take a few months to prepare for this possible war with China. The Ukraine conflict did not flare up suddenly but gradually intensified. However, after China’s invasion of Taiwan, the battle between the US and China will be explosive. The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has released a report highlighting that the US does not have enough time to prepare for it.

The United States is involved in the Ukraine conflict. The United States is supplying a large number of weapons to the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian army is firing about 7,000 artillery shells, rockets and missiles on the Russian military daily. NATO officials had expressed concern over the Ukrainian army’s firing of artillery and missiles. However, the CIA report claimed that Ukraine had to use the weapons in self-defence.

The US is providing a large supply of artillery shells and other explosives. These include 8500 javelin anti-arm systems, 1600 anti-aircraft systems and 100,000 artillery shells required for 125 mm tanks. Additionally, the United States has also supplied more than 100,000 rounds of howitzer artillery to Ukraine. It has a huge impact on US defence production. The CSIS report has presented the possibility of what could happen if China attacked Taiwan in such a situation.

If China attacks Taiwan, Taiwan will have to retaliate strongly and stop the Chinese army. It is because China would already block the route that provides assistance to Taiwan. Therefore, the CSIS report claimed that Taiwan cannot wait until China lays siege and encircles it; Taiwan will have to attack the Chinese army before it.

For this, the CSIS informed that the US would have to take aggressive and quick decisions.

Meanwhile, the US has been completely focused on the Ukraine conflict since its outbreak, and the threat to Taiwan from China is claimed to have grown. Some had earlier said that China would take over Taiwan by launching a sudden attack, and the US would not be able to do anything after that. In such a situation, the importance of the report given by CSIS has increased. Nevertheless, Taiwanese leaders and military officials claim that the outcome of this war would be very different from the conflict in Ukraine, saying that China is not Russia and Taiwan is not Ukraine.
