Confrontation with the West over Ukraine is an existential battle for survival of Russia

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a serious allegation that the West has one goal: to disband the former Soviet Union and its fundamental part – the Russian Federation. Putin underscored that the United States and European countries have provided billions of dollars in arms for the Ukraine war and that Russia is fighting not just against Ukraine but also against NATO. President Putin warned that the confrontation against the West over the war in Ukraine is an existential battle for the survival of Russia.

ConfrontationThe Western front has claimed that Russia could not meet its planned targets as the Russian war completed one year on Friday. Western media has also started painting the picture of President Putin’s failure. The Ukrainian military has forced the Russian forces, which had advanced to the capital Kyiv, to back off, and the Ukrainian regime is again making claims of retaking Crimea. In an interview with a Russian news agency against this background, President Putin reiterated that Russia is fighting a war against not only Ukraine but the entire Western front.

“The sole aim of the West is to disintegrate Russia and control all its resources. Russian society will also be divided if Russia is disintegrated. The majority of the original Russian descendants will be destroyed. I do not even know if such an ethnic group as the Russian people will be able to survive in the form in which it exists today. After coming to such a state, perhaps the West may accept Russia,’ Putin claimed.

He also drew attention to NATO’s nuclear capability. In the current situation, all NATO member countries have clearly stated that their sole objective is strategically defeating Russia. In the present case, Russia cannot ignore NATO’s nuclear capability, Putin pointed out. The Russian President warned that if an agreement is to be made with Russia on nuclear weapons, it must also include France and the UK.

Along with Putin, the former Russian President and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, also aimed at western countries. ‘In the Ukraine war, Russia has to fight an empire of diverse enemies. It includes Ukrainians as well as European neo-Nazis, Americans, Anglo-Saxons and their minion countries,’ Medvedev claimed. He accused them, saying that these enemies’ sole aim was to destroy Russia’s existence on earth. Nevertheless, reminding them, Medvedev said their efforts would be unsuccessful as Russia is a very strong country.
