Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a serious warning that the Russia-Ukraine conflict may turn into a nuclear war if the battle intensifies due to the continuous supply of weapons to Ukraine by Western countries. The Russian President also warned that if the Third World War flares up in the wake of the Ukraine conflict, no country can win in it, not even the United States. As President Putin warned about nuclear war and the Third World War, former President Dmitry Medvedev threatened that Russia could attack the enemy country’s ‘undersea cables’ and other facilities and would not practice restraint.
On Tuesday, Russian President Putin held a meeting with the country’s ‘war correspondents’ and ‘military bloggers’. During the meeting, he clarified his position on the current situation of the Ukraine conflict and other issues. At present, Ukraine’s ‘counter offensive’ has been completely unsuccessful, and the country has suffered huge losses in this, Putin claimed. The Ukrainian army has suffered ten times more casualties than the Russian army, the Russian head of state said. Putin said Ukraine had lost over 150 tanks, more than 300 artillery pieces, and armoured vehicles.
During this, President Putin also mentioned the losses and difficulties faced by the Russian army. He confessed that Russia has also lost 54 tanks and suffered casualties and claimed that the Russian military lacked advanced weapons, drones and communication systems. But now, Putin said
Russia was trying to overcome this, and he drew attention towards increasing the production of defence goods by two and a half times. It is Putin’s first statement on the Russian army’s problems after last year’s Ukraine invasion.
Moreover,
President Putin also took cognisance of the attacks by the Ukrainian army on the Russian border. To stop these attacks, Russia will annex more and more Ukrainian territory of Ukraine and create a ‘sanitary zone’, indicated the Russian President. He also claimed that the scope of this area would be to ensure that Ukraine cannot attack Russian territory. Alleging that the United States is not interested in the Russia-Ukraine peace talks, Russia will take the decision to pull out of the ‘Grain Deal’ in the coming days, President Putin warned.
Meanwhile, former President Medvedev has threatened the Western countries. Information about
Ukraine‘s involvement with Western countries in damaging Russia’s ‘Nord Stream’ gas pipeline is continuously coming to the fore. Yet the Western countries are not keen to take any action on this. Criticising this, Medvedev threatened that Russia would not consider moral norms while attacking its enemy countries. Former President Medvedev also issued a stern warning to the UK and European countries saying that their undersea cables would be targeted.
