Jerusalem: On Friday night, Hamas terrorists fired two rockets from the Gaza Strip on Israel’s borders. Nevertheless, the Israeli Iron Dome aerial defence system intercepted the missiles successfully. Later, on Saturday morning, Israeli warplanes undertook a major offensive and targeted Hamas sites with precision. The Israeli military informed that Hamas had suffered heavy damages in operation.
On Friday night, people were engaged in Christmas celebrations as Hamas launched rocket attacks in southern Israel, causing a commotion. The rocket attacks triggered sirens in Ashkelon, Zikim and Netiv Hasara where people ran to seek refuge under bomb shelters.
According to local agencies, the attacks did not cause any casualties or financial damages. The Israeli military hit three major Hamas facilities in central Gaza, in retaliation to the Hamas strikes. Israeli air raids destroyed Hamas rocket manufacturing facility, underground infrastructure and a military post.
Iran, Iran-affiliated Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist organisations are plotting an attack on Israel. The groups have threatened to target not only US interests but also those of Israel. On the contrary, Israeli defence chief had announced that the country is fully prepared to respond to Iran-backed militant groups a few days ago.
