Warsaw / Washington – The United States has newly begun military deployments to Poland, while the tensions between Russia and Ukraine are on the rise. Armed vehicles, including US military units, have arrived in Poland, reported Polish sources. It has surfaced that Russia’s nuclear bombers have been patrolling Belarus while the US is making military deployment to Poland.  

Moreover, newer claims are consistently surfacing regarding the military deployments along the Russia and Ukraine border. At the same time, solid diplomatic efforts are also being made at the international level to stop Russia. So far, diplomatic talks held between the United States, NATO and Russia have not reached any settlement. Both sides are signalling the continuation of discussions at the diplomatic level. 

Despite this, last week, US President Joe Biden had announced the military deployment in Europe. The Defense Department said that President Biden has decided to deploy 3,000 additional troops to European countries. These additional troops will be deployed in Germany, Poland and Romania. Ahead of the decision, the United States has instructed 8,500 troops among deployed military units from Europe to remain on high alert.  

It is said that the armaments and the military contingent, which arrived in Poland on Saturday, are part of the announcement of Biden. However, before Poland, the new US military contingents had arrived in Germany. At the same time, movements have begun of the US military unit, currently stationed in Germany, to be deployed in Romania, said the US sources.  

The new US troop deployments signalled the escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Claims have surfaced that Russia has deployed thousands of troops at the Belarus border, close to Ukraine. After that, it has also emerged that Russia’s nuclear bombers have also visited Belarus. Russia had already criticised that the new US military deployment in Europe is a destructive step.
