Kyiv/ Moscow – Ukraine’s Air Force has admitted that the pilot titled ‘Ghost of Kyiv’ who shot down 40 Russian fighter jets during a military campaign in Ukraine, was a mere legend. A few days ago, after the death of an officer of the Ukrainian Air Force, claims were released in the media that he was a ‘Ghost of Kyiv’. However, while revealing that these claims are not true, Ukraine has been forced to admit that even the ‘Ghost of Kyiv’ is untrue. Therefore, Ukraine’s claims in the battle against Russia in the last two months have been questioned.
Moreover, Russia had undertaken an aggressive military campaign against Ukraine in late February. During the campaign, Russia had succeeded in bumping into the border of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. During the battle, claims were being published repeatedly that Ukrainian Defence Forces were strongly resisting Russia and that Russia was suffering tremendous losses. The Western media picked up on these claims and waged an aggressive propaganda war against Russia. Russia had brought to the fore the falsehood of some of these claims. However, the picture was still that Ukraine and the Western countries that backed up Ukraine were taking the lead in the propaganda war.
The Ghost of Kyiv is just one of them. A scene had been created under the pretence that a Ukrainian pilot stationed near the capital, Kyiv, was boldly targeting and blowing up Russian planes. It was told categorically that a single pilot had blown up 40 Russian Air Force fighter jets. Ukraine’s security forces had also carried out a major campaign through social media. Through this medium, Russia, displaying its military prowess, was portrayed as weak. However, now it is seen that the confession from Ukrainian Air Force has cracked it.
Earlier, on social media, things displayed by the Ukrainian government, defence forces and the media were repeatedly revealed as false. However, the Western media backed by Ukraine did not pay much attention. However, as Ukraine has claimed that the ‘Ghost of Kyiv’ is a legend, other claims of Ukraine may also be called into question.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Russia’s Defence Chief, General Valery Gerasimov, has been injured in a fierce conflict between Russia and Ukraine near Kharkiv. It is said that Gerasimov has been taken to Belgorod, Russia, where he is being treated. Earlier, Ukraine claimed to have killed ten leading Russian defence forces officials during the conflict. Earlier, it was also claimed that Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu was ill.
