Moscow / Kyiv – Russia and Ukraine have begun a decisive conflict for Severodonetsk, considered a strategic city in Donbas. Ukrainian officials had claimed to have seized some parts from Russia 24 hours ago. However, the situation changed after that, and it worsened for the Ukrainian forces, informed local Ukrainian agencies. Along with Severodonetsk, Russia has also carried out heavy bombardment and rocket attacks on Severodonetsk and other essential routes connecting Lysychansk and the city. Against this backdrop, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims to have visited Ukrainian military units in Donbas.
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin, leading Russian leaders, and military officials have repeatedly said that control over Donbas is decisive for the Russian campaign in Ukraine. Therefore, the Russian forces are severely trying to control the Donbas region under any circumstances. It is said that Russia intends to seize control of the Donbas region by the end of June. It is crucial to have complete control of the Luhansk province, and Russia seems to have used all its strength for this in the last two weeks. Western countries that support the country, including Ukraine, must admit that Russia has gained strategic success in Donbas. Ukraine’s President and senior officials have acknowledged the army suffering heavy losses in the conflict of Donbas. However, still, Ukraine has refused to withdraw easily from Severodonetsk and other cities.
Therefore, it has surfaced that a decisive conflict has erupted between Russia and Ukraine in the region. Ukrainian officials have described the ongoing conflict between the two countries, currently in the Donbas region, as the ‘hottest war’. At the same time, it was also noted that the situation in Ukraine was deteriorating day by day.
Furthermore, Russia has launched fuming attacks on the cities of Lysychansk, Bakhmut and Sloviansk, including Severodonetsk. Fighter jets, tanks, rocket systems, guns and drones are used extensively for these attacks. Ukrainian officials claim that Russian attacks scorch the Ukrainian cities. More than 400 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, and a large stock of foreign weaponry has been destroyed in the past 24 hours, Russia’s Defence Ministry has claimed.
Along with Donbas, Russia has also targeted southern Ukraine, and consistent missile attacks are being launched on the Mykolaiv city. At the same time, reports have surfaced that Russia could shock Ukraine by launching an operation on the Odessa city by the marine route.
