Moscow – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that the United States and the United Kingdom wish to spark war from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine against Europe. Lavrov also alleged that Germany, Poland, and the Baltic countries support the United States and the United Kingdom. The Russian Foreign Minister has further claimed that Western countries are trying that no peace agreement gets signed with Russia.
Moreover, Foreign Minister Lavrov severely criticised Western countries in an interview with Russian media. He said the US and UK were only trying to protect their interests. He further said that the countries of the European Union have to pay a heavy price in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Lavrov added that the US actions to escalate tensions with Russia exhibit their irresponsibility. The Russian Foreign Minister targeted the West that they were playing a dangerous game.
At this time, Lavrov signalled that Russia’s campaign in Ukraine is no longer limited to Donbas. He said that in March, they were ready to accept Ukraine’s peace proposal according to the situation then. ‘Now the geography is different; it’s far from being just the DPR and LPR; it’s also Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions and several other territories. This process is continuing logically and persistently,’ Lavrov made it apparent, indicating that Russia’s military objectives had changed. He also clarified that Russia would ensure that there would be no threat to the Russian territory from Ukraine.
