Russia claims 600 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in missile attack in eastern Ukraine

Moscow/Kyiv: Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed that about 600 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in missile attacks on Ukrainian bases in the city of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin’s office has confirmed this claim by the Russian Defence Ministry. However, Ukraine has rejected these reports and clarified that no soldier was killed in the attack. The Ukrainian government said the Russian claim was part of a propaganda war. Meanwhile, on Monday, Russian forces launched heavy attacks in the Bakhmut, Soledar and Kharkiv areas, and a large number of lives were revealed to have been lost.

At the start of the year, Ukraine launched a major rocket attack in the Makiivka region of the Russian-controlled Donetsk region. A building of the Russian Army was targeted in this strike. Ukraine claimed that as many as 400 soldiers were killed. But the Russian Defense Ministry rejected the claim. Six ‘HIMARS’ rockets were fired at Makiivka, killing around 90 Russian soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Russia is said to have launched a missile attack in Kramatorsk in response to the attack.

The Ukrainian military had set up a temporary base in two buildings in Kramatorsk. More than a thousand Ukrainian soldiers were stationed at these bases. More than 600 soldiers have been killed, according to the Russian Defence Ministry. However, no evidence has been presented regarding this attack. Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the attack. Peskov explained that the Russian government has full confidence in the information provided by the Defence Ministry.

Nevertheless, the Ukrainian government has rejected Russia’s claims. The government said not a single Ukrainian soldier was killed in the attack on Kramatorsk, and there was no Ukrainian base in the area. The Ukrainian regime accused the Russian claims of being part of a propaganda war. Ukraine has also released some photographs in this regard.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Russian Army was found to have launched heavy missile and rocket attacks on the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar along with Kharkiv. Ukraine reported casualties in attacks in the Kharkiv area. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the situation between Soledar and Bakhmut is getting more difficult daily. President Zelensky stated that Soledar and Bakhmut are the bloodiest fronts in eastern Ukraine. However, he also claimed that Russia has not yet taken over Bakhmut but that the Ukrainian army is fighting hard.
