US Secretary of State Blinken accuses China

Munich/Beijing/Moscow: ‘Chinese companies have not yet provided deadly and destructive systems to Russia for the Ukraine conflict. However, in the coming time, China may start supplying deadly weapons to Russia,’ US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken accused. China has not responded to Blinken’s allegations. However, at the Security Council in Munich on Saturday, senior Chinese leader Wang Yi announced that he would soon issue a statement clarifying China’s stance on the Ukraine conflict. Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to announce a proposal for the Russia-Ukraine peace deal on February 24.

The issues of the Russia-Ukraine war and China’s spy balloon are on the agenda of the Security Council in Munich. US Secretary of State Blinken and Chinese leader Wang Yi discussed the issues. Sources claimed there was a rift between the two leaders during the discussion. The Chinese leaders have demanded the US not escalate the issue. The US State Secretary said China should make full disclosure in the Balloon case. In a speech in Munich before this discussion, Chinese leader Wang Yi criticised the European countries and the Western front.

‘In the Ukrainian conflict, China has neither flared up the battle nor taken a neutral stand. We will soon publish a statement about our stance on the conflict. It will assign priority to the principle of respecting the territorial integrity of all countries. Other countries should also think calmly about the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Especially the European countries need to do it. We need to consider what we can do to stop the war. Some elements do not want the Russia-Ukraine negotiations to succeed or the war to end quickly,’ Wang Yi said.

After Yi’s speech, US Secretary of State Blinken made a statement warning China about its arms supply in an interview with a news agency. Blinken said that if China supplies deadly weapons to Russia, it will be a serious problem for relations between the US and China. Blinken recalled that China had cooperated in bypassing the West’s restrictions imposed on Russia in the past and reducing its influence. Earlier, the US had imposed sanctions on Chinese companies for supplying satellite photographs to Russia’s Wagner Group.

Meanwhile, Russia has reminded France of its history with a statement on the Ukraine conflict. “France did not start with Macron. The remains of Napoleon are still in Paris, the capital of France. France and Russia should keep this in mind,” said Maria Zakharova, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman. In an interview, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he wanted Russia to be defeated in the Ukraine conflict but did not want it to be crushed. Macron said he did not want leadership change in Russia.

Ukrainian agencies have informed that the frequency of attacks on the Ukrainian front is increasing, and a large number of artillery guns, battle tanks, rockets and missiles are being fired on some parts of Luhansk, Kharkiv and Donetsk. Ukraine also said Russian forces were targeting the Kreminna, Kupiansk and Svatove regions.
