Kyiv / Washington / Moscow – The US and British Special Forces have been the participants in the Ukraine conflict since its inception, the leading French daily Le Figaro has claimed. Both countries have announced that they will not directly participate in the conflict in Ukraine and that their troops will not fight in Ukraine. Against that background, the information revealed by the French daily could be shocking. Russia had formerly accused US-affiliated mercenaries, including terrorists from Al-Qaeda and other groups, of fighting alongside Ukraine.
Moreover, a leading journalist of Le Figaro, George Malbrunot, has imparted this information via a tweet, citing French intelligence agencies. As British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, on Saturday, the information has surfaced. Russia had launched a military operation against Ukraine in late February. Several months before the action began, selected military units from the US, UK and NATO member states were active in Ukraine. The countries concerned said they had deployed the units to train the Ukrainian army. Such squads had been directed to withdraw after the possibility of the Russia-Ukraine conflict escalated.
However, it has surfaced due to the French daily claims that the UK Special Forces units were active in the conflict in Ukraine. The squad includes Delta Force, part of the US Special Forces, and a British SAS unit. Information has emerged that during the visit of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Kyiv, a contingent deployed for his security included SAS unit personnel.
Moreover, Journalist George Malbrunot has mentioned this in his tweet as well. Citing French intelligence agencies, the British SAS unit, and US Delta Force have been active in Ukraine since the start of the Ukraine conflict, Malbrunot said in a tweet. This claim indicates that the US and UK are directly involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Both these countries had declared that their troops would not participate in the conflict against Russia. Despite this, the involvement of their special forces reveals the duplicity of these countries, Russian media have claimed.
Most NATO member states, including the US, have provided large amounts of defence assistance to Ukraine in the Ukraine conflict. Although the US and UK are at the forefront, small countries such as Latvia and Slovakia have also provided large arms to Ukraine. Slovakia had supplied Ukraine with a Russian-made S-300 missile system. Russia has informed that this system was destroyed using the calibre cruise missiles a few days ago.
Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Russian Chechen Republic, has warned that Russian forces will once again attack the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. Kadyrov said Russia’s Defence Forces would not withdraw; on the contrary, they would attack Mariupol and Kyiv.
