Only option for Ukrainian military in Severodonetsk is to surrender or die

Moscow / Kyiv – Russia and pro-Russian forces have also blown up a third bridge connecting Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. Eduard Basurin, a pro-Russian official, warned that there was no option left for the Ukrainian military in the city but to surrender or die. Basurin has been functional as a military representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The Russian military had already blown up two bridges connecting Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. Now, the blowing up of the third bridge is believed to have closed the way for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops.

surrender or die The campaign from Russia for the Donbas region seems to be intensifying daily. Besides Severodonetsk and Lysychansk cities, Russia has also launched aggressive attacks for control over Bakhmut and Sloviansk cities. At the same time, rockets and missiles have been newly hit in Kharkiv in northern Ukraine and Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine. It is believed that the primary purpose of the attacks was to destroy weapons and food provision to the Ukrainian army in Donbas. Russia on Monday claimed to have destroyed a stockpile of foreign weapons with an attack on the Udachne railway station in east Ukraine. It is said that a high-precision missile was used for this purpose.

Along with blowing up bridges between Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, strong attacks were also launched on the chemical factory in Severodonetsk. Several civilians, including Ukrainian military units, were believed to have taken shelter in the factory. It is said that the Ukrainian forces are trying to make the factory a new base in the anti-Russian conflict. Russia has launched severe attacks with the help of cannons and rockets at the factory so that these efforts do not succeed. The attacks sparked fires in several places in the factory area, and it is claimed that the lives of civilians seeking refuge are under threat.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for air defence systems in the wake of growing Russian attacks in the Donbas region. Zelensky demanded that Ukraine needs an advanced air defence system like the US ‘Patriot’ or Israeli ‘Iron Dome’. The Ukrainian President also claimed that Russia had fired staggering 2,500 cruise missiles at Ukraine since the start of the conflict.
