Ukraine’s 31st Independence Day was on Wednesday. Warnings had already been issued against Russia, likely launching major attacks in the wake of Ukraine’s Independence Day. The attack on the town of Chaplin in the Dnipropetrovsk region confirms the warnings. Russia informed that it targeted a military train parked at the railway station in this city and used Iskander missiles to launch the attack.

Two Iskandar missiles were found to have caused extensive damage to the railway station, targeted train and its surroundings. More than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the attack. Also, ten units holding weapon stocks were destroyed, the Russian Defence Ministry said. However, Ukraine claimed that 25 people were killed in this attack. Ukrainian authorities also stated that children and civilians were among the dead. At the same time, the number of casualties is also expected to rise.

जवानApart from the city of Chaplin, Ukraine reported that Russia also attacked the cities of Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Dnipro, along with the capital Kyiv. Meanwhile, there are indications of a team from the International Atomic Energy Agency soon visiting the nuclear plant in Zaporizhzhia. Sources said that the head of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, shared information in this regard. It also emerged that Russia had submitted evidence to the agency detailing the Ukrainian attacks.

Zaporizhzhia is the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine, with a capacity of a whopping 6,000 megawatts. In the past few days, the intensity of attacks in the area of this project has increased. Both Russia and Ukraine have accused each other in this regard. Ukraine also accused Russia of nuclear blackmail.
