Russia launches crushing missile attacks on Ukrainian cities for 2nd successive day

Moscow/Kyiv: Russia, who rained missiles on Ukrainian cities on Monday, continued with the intensity of its attacks for the second day in a row. The Russian forces attacked the cities of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, Lviv in the west, Odesa in the south, and Zaporizhzhia, which is under the control of the Ukrainian army. Russian Defence Ministry informed that fighter jets, drones, and cruise missiles were used in the attacks. Power stations and other infrastructure facilities, including Ukrainian army bases, were targeted during the attacks. Meanwhile, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov, has warned that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine may lead to an uncontrolled escalation.

Ukrainian cities, Russia Ukrainian cities

Last week, Ukrainian intelligence agencies carried out a terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge connecting Crimea and Russia. Infuriated by this attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered intense attacks on Ukraine. Accordingly, Russian forces launched more than 80 missiles at nearly 20 cities in Ukraine on Monday. This aggression has shaken the western alliance, along with Ukraine. However, President Putin has warned that Russia will not stop with just one blow but will launch more crushing attacks on Ukraine in the future.

The Russian response was evident in the attacks on Tuesday. Sirens warning of an attack blared in several cities of Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv. Missile and drone attacks were carried out in towns such as the capital, Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Dnipro. Also, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that Russian warplanes attacked multiple targets. More than 20 missiles are believed to have been used in Tuesday’s attacks. The attacks targeted military bases as well as power supply systems. As a result, the power supply in almost 300 areas, including leading cities of Ukraine, has stopped since Monday.

युक्रेनी शहरांवरFor the past few days, Ukraine, western organizations and media have claimed that Russia’s military capabilities have been exhausted and its forces were exasperated. These claims were made based on the Russian troops’ successive retreats and the Ukrainian army’s successes. Nevertheless, Russia has shown its military might to the world along with Ukraine by grilling Ukrainian cities for two consecutive days. Western analysts are now saying that this demonstration of Russia’s might, after eight months into the conflict with Ukraine and despite many setbacks, will only sharply widen the scope of the Ukraine war.

Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also issued a new warning to the Western alliance and Ukraine. Ryabkov said that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine could end up in an uncontrolled escalation.
