Beirut/Jerusalem – ‘Today, in particular, is the worst day in the history of Israel, as some of its people say. After Monday’s decision, Israel will undergo collapse, fragmentation, and disappearance,’ Lebanon’s Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah gloatingly claimed. Opponents in Israel have started intense demonstrations after the resolution of judicial reform was passed in Israel’s Parliament. There are also reports of two groups forming in the Israeli security system. Meanwhile, the Biden administration of the US has also been claiming to have left the Israeli government on this issue. Against this background, the Hezbollah chief has made such claims regarding Israel.

Moreover, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken steps in the same direction by stating the need for judicial reform to reduce court interference in the Israeli government’s business. Israel has had a big dispute about this issue for six months. The Netanyahu government and its political opponents were standing against one another. Additionally, the Biden administration supported the protest initiated by Israel’s left-wing leaders. The Biden administration had demanded that Prime Minister Netanyahu withdraw from this reform. Citing this, the White House had also postponed inviting Prime Minister Netanyahu.

However, Prime Minister Netanyahu, firm on his decision, presented this proposal in the Israeli Parliament on Monday and got it passed. After this, vigorous demonstrations started against the Netanyahu government in major cities of Israel. Besides, the opponents began to criticise the Israeli Prime Minister sharply. The US White House has also declared this decision to be unfortunate. At the same time, the White House has warned the Israeli government that it is necessary to respect public opinion in a democratic system.

Furthermore, Lebanon’s Iran-linked terrorist organisation Hezbollah has reacted to these activities of Israel. Nasrallah said that ‘at one time, Israel was considered a regional superpower. Israel could never be defeated. He said that regional countries have accepted that Israel is a threat and cannot be avoided.’ Nasrallah expressed satisfaction saying that, after today’s decision, the views about Israel have gone away.

In addition, the Hezbollah chief says that Israel will not recover from this blow. Nasrallah noted that these internal differences will affect Israel, and Israel will collapse, be fragmented, and then be destroyed. Besides, drawing attention to the incident on the Lebanese border earlier this month, Nasrallah claimed that Israel’s strength was waning. In recent days, Israel has accused Hezbollah of having set up tents in the area of Mount Dov. Israel has also released its photographs. However, Nasrallah has speculated that there was no unity between the Israeli leadership and the security forces, saying Israel could not do anything beyond this.

Meanwhile, a law related to judicial reform has created two groups in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Besides, hundreds of Israeli and Air Force soldiers refused to appear for military service in protest against the law. Expressing concern over this, the Chief of defence staff made them realise they all were responsible for Israel’s security.
