Niamey – Mohamed Bazoum, Niger President ousted by Niger military, demands military intervention from West African countries. However, Bazoum’s political advisor Antinekar Al-Hassan has strongly opposed this demand. Al-Hassan has warned, ‘I don’t think ECOWAS will make the mistake of intervening militarily in Niger because if they intervene, all of Africa will be at war.’ At the same time, Al-Hassan has drawn attention to the fact that the ongoing activities of European countries to impose sanctions on Niger will target the people.

The deadline of seven days given to the Niger military by West African countries to reinstate President Bazoum, who was under house arrest, arrived on Sunday. After that, President Bazoum would be freed by sending troops to Niger, West African nations had declared. An important meeting of West African countries is underway over this issue. Apart from Mali and Burkina Faso, other West African countries support military action in Niger. Nigeria has ordered its army to be ready to send its troops to Niger.

However, President Bazoum’s advisor has opposed the activities of military incursion in Niger by the West African countries. Saying that the war would erupt in the African continent, Al-Hasan has warned that the repercussions of the war in Niger will be on the whole of Africa. Besides, religious leaders who influence the West African country, i.e. Sahel region, have also expressed concern over the activities of Niger. Archbishop Elijah Ayodele of the Evangelical Spiritual Church has warned that the heads of state of some African countries will get killed if Bola Tinubu, the President of the organisation of West African Nations (ECOWAS), decides to attack Niger.

Moreover, Archbishop Ayodele said that no African country would remain stable after a war in Niger. He also said that the governments of some countries would collapse. In addition, he said that the Third World War would enter Africa due to this conflict. He also warned that the US and NATO could offer nothing but destruction to Africa.
