Russia is taking steps to deploy nuclear weapons in space, US intelligence warns

Washington/Moscow – The US intelligence agencies have warned that Russia is moving to fire nuclear weapons in space. Besides, the media has published news of the US Congress and friendly European countries sharing related information. In this context, senior Republican leader Mike Turner has demanded that the US President make public the complete information of the serious Russian threat. Meanwhile, the US Space Force (USSF) announced the installation of six secret satellites on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the head of the US House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, issued a statement. Russia moves to launch nuclear weapons into spaceIt mentioned a serious threat to US security. Also, Turner has demanded President Joe Biden share information about this grave threat with the public. Following this, the Western media, including the United States, have released a report on the Russian nuclear threat. The media claimed that Russia developed an anti-satellite nuclear weapon to fire into space.

Moreover, Russia’s response to the US claims has come to the fore. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov criticised the US report as malicious fabrication. Russia moves to launch nuclear weapons into spaceAt the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed the allegations against Russia by stating that the report was a rumour and that it was a new trick of the White House. Earlier in 2020, Russia had tested an anti-satellite weapon from its Cosmos 2543 satellite installed in space. After this, in 2021, the Cosmos 1408 satellite installed in space had also been destroyed.

Against this background, Russia’s warning to fire nuclear weapons into space leads to attention. With this warning from the US agencies coming to light, the US Space Force announced on Wednesday afternoon that it installed six secret satellites in space. Furthermore, the US Space Force has stated that two satellites were for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the other four satellites for the Space Development Agency (SDA). Given the growing threat in space, the Space Force has also said it would install this satellite.
