Iran has only few weeks to revive the nuclear deal

Washington/ Jerusalem – ‘If they continue at their current pace, we have some weeks left but not much more than that, at which point the conclusion will be there’s no deal to be revived. At some point in a not-so-distant future, we will have to conclude the JCPOA is no more and we would have to negotiate a wholly different deal and we would go through a period of escalating crisis’, warned US Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley. Whereas US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan has assured Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

अणुकरारFor the past few days, a candid discussion in Vienna about the nuclear deal with Iran has been suspended. Iran has made it clear that it will join the talks from the following Monday. However, criticism is growing that Iran is taking a time-consuming role in pursuing a nuclear deal. Speaking to US News Agency, Robert Malley, the Biden administration’s special envoy for the nuclear deal with Iran, slammed Iran’s role.

‘If they halt the nuclear advances, we have more time. If they continue at their current pace, we have some weeks left but not much more than that, at which point the conclusion will be there’s no deal to be revived. At some point in a not-so-distant future, we will have to conclude the JCPOA is no more and we would have to negotiate a wholly different deal and we would go through a period of escalating crisis’, warned Malley.

US NSA Jake Sullivan paid a two-day visit to Israel while the US special envoy warned Iran about the nuclear deal. After meeting with Israeli PM Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Sullivan outlined US’s stand on the Iranian threat. Iran’s support for the terrorist groups since its nuclear programme was discussed by the leaders of the US and Israel.

अणुकरारThe US NSA presented three options for Iran’s nuclear programme in the visit. In the next few weeks, Iran should accept the nuclear deal of 2015, says the first option. Whereas, Israeli leaders notified objection to the second option, which is to free Iran from sanctions to curb its nuclear programme.

In the past few months, Iran, which has been increasing Uranium enrichment, has developed as much stock to produce an atomic bomb, informed Israeli leaders. Under such circumstances, Israeli leaders have warned that it would not be appropriate to fund or lift sanctions on Iran to halt its nuclear programme. While the third option was to impose new sanctions on Iran if there was no nuclear deal. The Biden administration has indicated that it does not support Israel’s role in taking military action against Iran.
