Including Ukraine in NATO could provoke a nuclear war

Moscow – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin sternly warned that if Ukraine is included in NATO, it could provoke a nuclear war between Russia and NATO and that there will be no winners. It has surfaced that Putin issued this warning at a joint news conference with French President Emmanuel Macron. Reports have been released that Russia has deployed Kinzal nuclear-capable hypersonic missiles and MiG-31K fighter jets at Kaliningrad’s defence base in Europe in the wake of this warning.

provoke a nuclear warIn the last few months, vigorous diplomatic moves have been underway to reduce the tensions between Russia and Ukraine. As part of that, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Russia on Monday. Macron met with President Vladimir Putin in the capital, Moscow, at this time. The two leaders nearly had a six-hour discussion, sources said. After the discussion, the two leaders held a joint press conference. Putin warned of a nuclear war while accusing the West during the conference.

‘If Ukraine joins NATO and tries to get Crimea back by military means, European countries will automatically be drawn into military conflict with Russia. The military capacities of NATO and Russia are incomparable… [and] there will be no winners,’ said Putin. He further said that Russia has an idea of NATO’s might, but Russia is one of the world’s leading nuclear powers. Russia has surpassed other countries in this field with its advanced technology. Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated a nuclear war in such words.

He also hinted that some of the proposals made by the French President during the talks were positive, and they would be useful for further diplomatic negotiations. During talks with Macron, French sources claimed that Russia had promised not to make any new military movements on the Ukrainian border. But it has not been confirmed by Russia. The French President has arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday after talks with Putin.

Meanwhile, it has surfaced that Russia has started military movements in Kaliningrad, a defence base in Europe. Russia has deployed hypersonic nuclear missiles and advanced fighter jets at the Kaliningrad base. At the same time, reports have been released that new warships are even being dispatched to the Black Sea marine area.
