As Ukraine takes stubborn stance at talks, Russia warns by putting its ‘nuclear triad’ on high alert

Kyiv – Ukraine eventually displays being ready to hold talks with Russia. Accordingly, discussions between Belarus, Ukraine and Russia began as well. However, Ukraine’s demands proposed before Russia have been proving to raise doubts about the future of the talks. Ukraine has demanded a complete withdrawal by Russia and an immediate end to the conflict. The Ukrainian delegation has asked Russia to relinquish control of Crimea, which it seized in 2014. Ukraine’s demands are unlikely to be accepted by Russia.  

'nuclear triad'Moreover, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had said that he didn’t feel like much could be concluded from these talks even before these talks began. The Ukrainian capital Kyiv has been under siege by Russian forces, and there are signs of Kyiv being soon be taken over by Russia. But in the Western media, there are reports that the Ukrainian military and public are resisting the Russian army. At the same time, European NATO member countries have prepared to supply assistance to Ukraine’s military. This could prolong the war in Ukraine. There are indications that these are the tactics of the United States behind this.  

Former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul has warned that Ukraine would become a battleground for Russia, similar to Afghanistan. However, Russia will not prolong the war, clearly indicated Russian President Vladimir Putin. This war could turn into a nuclear war, hints President Putin. He ordered his ‘nuclear forces’ to be ready for this. According to the order, Russia’s Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu gave horrifying information that Russia’s ‘nuclear triad’ means that its military, naval and air forces have been kept equipped with nuclear weapons.  

Meanwhile, the next 24 hours would prove most crucial for the future of Ukraine, the Ukrainian President claimed. Besieging the capital Kyiv, Russian forces have launched massive rocket attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine. Besides, two cities in southeast Ukraine have been captured by Russian troops, claimed the Russian news agency.
