Russia achieving overwhelming strategic success in Donbas  

London / Moscow / Kyiv – Russia’s military has intensified its attacks in the Donbas region while Russia completes 100 days of military action in Ukraine. This has compelled Western countries to take notice of Russia’s aggression. British intelligence agencies say in a report that Russia has been gaining a robust strategic success. At the same time, it is also claimed that the Luhansk province would be entirely under Russian control in the next two weeks. Against this backdrop, Russia will continue its military campaign until the objectives of action in Ukraine are met, Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov has warned.  

सामरिक यशIn the last 24 hours, Russia has launched significant attacks on the Ukrainian military front in the cities of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in Donbas. It is said that the Russian military has fired cannons, tanks and rockets, and in some areas, airstrikes have been used. Simultaneous attacks were launched on 14 towns and villages in Donetsk province; these include the strategic cities of Sloviansk and Bakhmut. Local officials informed that the water and electricity supply in Sloviansk was interrupted. It has also been claimed that Russia has deployed new units of artillery and rocket forces in the Donbas region.  

Moreover, it had surfaced from the remarks in the last few days that the Ukrainian military was exhausted with Russia’s aggression. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian officials in Luhansk and Donetsk have said there has been a consistent big life and financial loss. The confession made by the President of Ukraine about the loss of 60 to 100 soldiers every day has drawn attention. Now, tones of concern also appear from the Western countries that support this, including Ukraine.  

           

A few days ago, the US agencies and officials had warned Ukraine about Russia’s action in Donbas. Since then, the British agencies have openly acknowledged Russia’s success in Donbas. Besides, attention was drawn to a report published by the Ukrainian Defence Ministry on Friday that Russia has had an overwhelming success in the operation in Donbas. The UK’s Defence Ministry has said on Twitter that Russian forces have generated and maintained momentum and currently appear to hold the initiative over the Ukrainian opposition. Now, Russia controls more than 90% of Luhansk and is likely to take it over completely in the next two weeks.  

Meanwhile, Russia will continue its military campaign until all objectives for action in Ukraine are met, Russian government spokesman Peskov warned. The security of the people in Donbas was one of the main objectives of Russia’s action, and significant steps have been taken for this, the Russian spokesman further added. The United Nations has said that the conflict in Ukraine must end now. It further stated that this conflict has and will have no winner.
