Russia launches heavy attacks on Donetsk, Central Ukraine, Snake Island

Moscow/Kyiv – It has emerged that the Russian forces launched major attacks on the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, Central Ukraine and the Snake Island in southern Ukraine. Cannons and rockets were strongly hit on the cities of Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut. Ukrainian officials claimed that Russian forces were destroying everything in their path. Meanwhile, Russia has launched airstrikes on Snake Island in the Black Sea, which Ukraine recaptured.

Snake Island

A few days ago, Ukraine launched an action to regain the Russian-held parts of southern Ukraine. Ukraine claimed to have blown up Russia’s arsenal and important bases during the action. Although Russia has admitted its losses, Ukraine’s claims have been rejected. At the same time, it has surfaced that Russian forces have continually intensified their attacks in response to Ukraine’s actions.

Moreover, Russian Defence Forces claimed that Russia entered the city of Siversk in the Donbas region on Wednesday. It is said that the Russian military will try to break the defence of Ukraine in Bakhmut and other towns by seizing this city in the next few days. For this, Russia began attacks also near the city of Donetsk, including Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut. At the same time, the intensity of attacks by Russia has also increased towards Kharkiv in North-Eastern Ukraine.

Along with Donbas, Russia launched major attacks also in southern and central Ukraine. Russian fighter jets have launched attacks on Snake Island, a strategic place in the Black Sea. Besides, Caliber missiles hit the city of Vinnytsia in central Ukraine. Ukrainian agencies reported that many people were killed in the attack. Missile and rocket attacks were also reported on Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, there are indications that the export route of 20 million tonnes of foodgrains stuck in Ukraine will be cleared. At a meeting in Turkey on Wednesday, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey agreed to form a ‘Joint Coordination Center’. Earlier, Ukraine had accused Russia of importing food grains from Ukraine’s warehouse unilaterally.
