Moscow/Kyiv : Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has made a sensational accusation that the Ukrainian regime can use “dirty bombs” to provoke a major conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Shoigu also pointed out that the purpose behind it is to launch an aggressive campaign at the international level by blaming Russia for using weapons of mass destruction. Shoigu’s statement has been confirmed by senior Russian military officer Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. However, along with Ukraine, the US, the UK and France have rejected Russia’s accusations and replied that there is no truth in them.  

Russia is launching heavy missile and drone attacks on Ukraine. These attacks have destroyed much infrastructure in Ukraine. On the other side, heavy conflict is going on between the forces of Russia and Ukraine in the Donbas and Kherson provinces. Russia has begun new military deployments in Kherson province, claiming success in repelling Ukrainian attacks. Since it is not receiving much success against Moscow, Ukraine has started launching a series of accusations against Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russia planted a mine to blow up the Nova Kakhovka dam and hydroelectric power plant in Kherson province. After that, Zelensky also said that blowing up this project would be as deadly as dropping an atomic bomb.  

The Ukrainian regime is repeatedly making statements that Russia will drop a nuclear bomb on Ukraine. However, Russia has rejected these claims and said nuclear weapons would not be used. On the contrary, Russia alleged that only Ukraine could use a ‘dirty bomb’. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has warned that a plot to use a nuclear bomb has been designed based on the calculations that if a nuclear incident occurs in Ukraine, the whole world will turn against Russia. Russia has said that Shoigu expressed his concerns in the conversation with the defence ministers of the US, the UK, France and Turkey.  

The Russian Defense Ministry has received evidence that the Ukrainian regime is planning to use a ‘low yield nuclear device’, senior military officer Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov explained. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the defence minister’s statement. Furthermore, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia will raise the issue of the use of “dirty bombs” by Ukraine at the United Nations and other international platforms. The United States, the UK and France rejected these allegations of Russia. These countries responded by saying that Russia’s statements were baseless. Also, Ukraine’s president claimed that Russia is making such accusations, which means Russia is ready for such an attack.  

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Russia launched a missile and drone attack in the Mykolaiv area on Sunday. Mykolaiv Oblast is connected to Kherson Oblast. Russian attacks on Mykolaiv and Odesa at a time when Ukrainian forces are attacking Russia in Kherson assume much significance.
