Beirut/Jerusalem – The terrorist organisation Hamas is in great fear due to the new decision of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet. Hamas’ deputy chief, Saleh al-Arouri, has threatened to incite a regional war if Israel launches a targeted killing of Hamas commanders. In response to this threat of Hamas, Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu has said that action will continue against Hamas and Iran-linked terrorist organisations.

Besides, terrorists based in the West Bank have increased attacks on Israeli civilians over the past few months. A few days ago, it surfaced that the attacks in the last seven months have killed 30 Israeli civilians. Against this background, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu held a cabinet meeting, the details of which the Israeli government did not disclose. However, according to the leak released by some media, the decision to eliminate the key leaders, commanders and most wanted terrorists of terrorist organisations that threaten the security of Israeli citizens with target killings was taken in this meeting.

Moreover, Israel’s security and intelligence agencies had targeted the leaders and commanders of terrorist organisations like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah through target killing earlier. At the same time, Iran had accused Israel of being behind the attacks on the commanders and scientists of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. In addition, Israel’s security agencies have stopped this operation for the last few months. However, Hamas has panicked after news of the Netanyahu government’s decision at last week’s cabinet meeting.

Furthermore, Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri said Israel was preparing to capture the Palestinian place of worship and Jerusalem by starting target killing of its opponents. However, he added that a regional war will break out if Israel takes this step. Additionally, he threatened that they were fully prepared to go to war against Israel, and Israel would have a historic defeat. Nonetheless, Saleh and Hamas’ senior commander Mohammed Deif are named in Israel’s ‘Most Wanted’ list. Because of this, Hamas leaders seem to threaten Israel with a regional war.

At the same time, the Israeli Prime Minister replied to the Hamas deputy chief that Saleh and other Hamas leaders had hidden, fearing Israel’s action. Also, the PM said they know we will find them even if they hide in the Gaza Strip, Judea, Samaria or anywhere else. Besides, he added they must pay full price for the attacks on Israeli citizens. Therefore, the possibility of the struggle of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad against Israel in the coming days cannot be ruled out.
