Israel attacks Iran-linked terrorists in Lebanon, Syria
Beirut/Damascus – The Israeli military has targeted positions of Hezbollah and Iran-linked terrorist organisations in Lebanon and Syria in the last 24 hours in response to rocket attacks from the two countries. Meanwhile, on Monday, the Israeli army announced the destruction of Hezbollah terror cells in South Lebanon. Besides, reports of an encounter between Hezbollah terrorists and the Israeli military on the Lebanese border have also surfaced. At the same time, Israel has alleged that Iran is smuggling large quantities of weapons into Syria to increase the intensity of the conflict against Israel.
LebanonMoreover, Iran, Hezbollah and Iran-linked terrorist organisations based in Iraq, Syria and Yemen issued threats that if Israel initiates the action by landing troops in the Gaza Strip, it will have to face serious consequences. Israel has also announced that it has begun attacking Hamas positions by sending tanks along the Gaza Strip border. However, the Israeli army claims to have not launched a comprehensive action in Gaza.
In such a situation, Iran is attempting to equip Hezbollah with weapons in Syria. Accordingly, Israel alleged that Iran is smuggling weapons to Hezbollah through passenger planes through Syria. Against this background, Israel has destroyed the runways of the international airports of Syria’s capital, Damascus and Aleppo. Besides, Iran-linked hideouts and stockpiles of terrorist organisations have been destroyed. Also, Israel has begun with similar action against Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
GazaAs a result, the number of attacks on Israel’s border from Lebanon and Syria has increased in the last two days. The terrorist organisation had planned to bombard Israel’s northern region with mortars from Hezbollah’s base in southern Lebanon. However, on Monday, Israeli security agencies foiled the terrorist attack plan targeting the Hezbollah base. Simultaneously, there have been claims that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) base in Syria’s Daraa area suffered heavy losses in the Israeli attack, wherein reports of injuries to some have come to the fore.
