Washington – The Yemeni Houthi rebels launched two missile attacks in the direction of Israel during the last 24 hours. The Israeli Air Defense System Arrow and a US destroyer deployed in the Red Sea foiled the Houthi attacks. However, the United States is worried that Israel should not respond to the Houthi attacks as Israel’s retaliatory attacks will make the conflict more widespread, and a war will erupt in the Red Sea region. In such a situation, Saudi has called for the US to exercise restraint while retaliating against the Houthis in the Red Sea region.
Moreover, the Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched attacks on Israeli ships passing through the Red Sea. The rebels have also threatened that these attacks will continue until the Israeli military withdraws from Gaza. Therefore, Israel has confidently said that the military operations in Gaza would not stop without the absolute destruction of Hamas. Consequently, claims are being made that the conflict in Gaza will not end for the next few months.
Accordingly, the United States has appealed to Israel in such a situation to not respond to the missile and drone attacks by the Houthi rebels. The US newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, published the news. US destroyers are also deployed in this maritime area to respond to Houthi attacks. The newspaper said the Biden administration is worried that if Israel responds to the Houthis, the scope of the conflict in the Red Sea will increase.
Meanwhile, Saudi has called for US restraint while attacking Houthi. Also, the fuel transport in the Saudi port of Jeddah travels through the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and Europe. Therefore, it is haunting Saudi Arabia that if a conflict between the United States and the Houthi in the Red Sea region begins, it will affect their oil traffic. Against this background, the news agency informed that Saudi has suggested restraint to the United States while attacking the Houthis.
