Over 400 Ukrainian soldiers killed in Russian attacks

Moscow/Kyiv: Russia has intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian military at a time when confidential information has been revealed about the plans of the US and allied nations in Ukraine. In the last 24 hours, the Russian Army has launched big attacks in Ukraine-controlled parts of Donetsk province, including Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 450 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in these attacks. The ministry claims to have destroyed the military fuel and ammunition depot. Meanwhile, in the wake of the ‘Pentagon leak’, Ukraine has changed its counteroffensive against Russia, as per the US news channel ‘CNN’.

Ukrainian soldiersUkraine will launch a counterattack against Russia in April or May, according to Ukraine and Western countries. However, the Ukrainian military currently seems to be focusing on defending Bakhmut and causing destruction in the Russian provinces. The main reason for it is said to be the decrease in the number of weapons and logistics of the Ukrainian military. However, most of Bakhmut city is controlled by the Russian Army and the ‘Wagner Group’, while the Ukrainian Army has been cornered to a limited region. Ukrainian officials claim that Russia is implementing the ‘scorched earth’ tactics for complete control of Bakhmut.

Against this background, Russia has again started intensifying attacks in other parts of Ukraine. Russian troops stormed Lyman City in Donetsk and Kupiansk in Kharkiv province on Sunday. In the attack on Lyman, 120 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and armoured vehicles, howitzers and artillery systems were destroyed. Russian Defence Ministry said about 300 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the clashes near Donetsk. For this, fighter planes and ‘heavy flamethrowers systems’ were used.

Russian troops succeeded in stopping the advance of the Ukrainian Army near Kupiansk in Kharkiv province. 30 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, and the weapons stockpile is said to have been destroyed. The Russian fighter jets attacked Zaporizhzhia province, eliminating a major Ukrainian military fuel depot. According to Russia, the Ukrainian base had 70 thousand tons of fuel. Apart from this, Russian sources claimed that the arsenal containing missiles and artillery weapons was also destroyed.

Last week, the leak of classified documents belonging to the US Department of Defense caused quite a stir. The leak revealed the participation of the US and allied nations in Ukraine. Ukraine has changed plans for possible retaliatory attacks on Russia after the US leak. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued orders in this regard. Leading US news channel ‘CNN’ released a report on it.
