United Nations: – US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has levelled serious accusations against Russia, saying that dissolving Ukraine is the sole objective of the Russian military campaign. There is no doubt about the Russian objective anymore. Russia is appointing its officials in the acquired Ukrainian regions. Moreover, Russia has organised fake referendums to annex these regions. The US Ambassador also showered criticism on the countries standing with Russia and the ones refusing to take a stand against Russia while speaking at the UN Security Council.

Moreover, Russia has initiated moves to appoint its own officials in the Kherson and Zaporizhia provinces in the South, along with Donbas and Luhansk provinces in the east. Russia has started efforts to annex these regions to itself. US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield pointed out that the Russian Foreign Minister had openly claimed that this was the objective of the Russian campaign. During a meeting held in Egypt, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Russian campaign’s objective was to free the Ukrainian population from the rule of the illegal government there. The US Ambassador seems to be referring to this.

Moreover, US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield fired accusations that Russia is showering atrocities on civilians in east Ukraine and murdering innocent civilians. The Russian military is killing volunteers providing humanitarian aid and reporters. The Russian army is also attacking the people trying to flee from the region. Whereas, the Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, emphasised that the process of disarming Ukraine and freeing it from Nazism will continue. Polyansky criticised the western countries for justifying the Russian action in Ukraine by sending advanced weapons to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian military officials informed that Russia had lost more than 40,000 soldiers in the military campaign and 170 Russian soldiers were killed in Ukrainian actions over the last 24 hours. Similar claims had been made regarding the Ukrainian resistance even earlier. But the information received from the Russian sources is entirely different.

The United States had recently pointed out that keeping in view the Russian onslaught, Ukraine is left with very little time to regain control of the lost territories. Moreover, the US Ambassador to the United Nations has accused Russia of preparing to wipe Ukraine out from the global map. The international media are claiming that taking all this into account, Russia may announce some decisions about the Ukrainian regions under its control.
