International analysts and leaders have warned that there is an increase in the Chinese threat to Taiwan. These leaders and analysts claim that China will take over Taiwan in the next few years with military action. The US state department expressed the same fears too.
Taiwanese leaders, officials, and populations claim that there is a Chinese threat not only on the military level but also on economic and political levels. Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu had accused, during an interview with an Australian news channel, that China uses false propaganda, hybrid war techniques and Grey Zone war techniques against Taiwan.
Wang Ting-Yu, a senior leader in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party and Vice President of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee of the Taiwanese parliament, made a big statement regarding China. Wang Ting-Yu had retorted that President Xi Jinping wants to show the greatness of his leadership to the Chinese people. Attacking Taiwan can be one of the options. China can start a massive war. But it lacks confidence about winning the war. Wang said, therefore, China is using various avenues to win the war against Taiwan.
